Clean Shoot Jackpot

Jackpot is split evenly between all shooters who shoot clean. this is a 50% payback. So, out of your $60 entry fee $30 goes into the Jackpot.

Example of payout: 40 entries, of which $30 goes into the Jackpot = $1,200. 4 people shoot clean, the $1,200 is split evenly between those 4 shooters or $300 each.

If you shoot clean, you can only claim the clean shoot jackpot!

If you don't shoot clean you can enter the

FAST CAT JACKPOT!!

In the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association (CMSA), a "Clean Shoot Jackpot" refers to a special competition where the only way to win is by completing a course without missing any targets, with the prize money being pooled from all entries and distributed amongst the riders who achieve a clean shoot, essentially a "winner takes all" scenario based on perfect shooting accuracy; the rules may vary slightly depending on the event organizer, but the core principle remains the same - only riders with a clean run will split the jackpot.

Key points about CMSA Clean Shoot Jackpots:

  • Scoring:
A rider only receives points or is eligible for the payout if they complete the course without missing any targets.

    Entry Fee:
Each participant pays an entry fee which contributes to the total jackpot amount.

    Payout Distribution:
The total jackpot is divided amongst all riders who achieve a clean shoot, with the prize potentially being split equally or based on a predetermined percentage.

  • No Time Penalty:
Unlike standard CMSA competitions, time penalties may not be factored into the Clean Shoot Jackpot, only target misses.

Important considerations when participating in a CMSA Clean Shoot Jackpot:

  • Check Specific Event Rules:
Always review the rules of the specific event you are entering as variations may exist regarding the number of entries needed to activate the jackpot, payout structure, and eligibility requirements.

    Horse Selection:
Choose a horse that is reliable and capable of consistent accuracy on the course.

    Practice Strategy:
Focus on practicing shooting techniques that prioritize precision and target acquisition to maximize your chances of a clean run.

In Cowboy Mounted Shooting, competitors on horseback shoot at targets while navigating a course, with scoring based on time and accuracy, and penalties for missed targets, dropped guns, or incorrect course navigation.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of the rules:

General Rules:
• Objective:Competitors must engage 10 targets while riding a horse along a specified course, aiming for speed and accuracy.
• Firearms:Competitors use .45 caliber single-action revolvers, similar to those used in the late 1800s, loaded with blank ammunition.
• Scoring:Competitors are scored on time and accuracy, with penalties for missed targets, dropped guns, incorrect course navigation, or falling off the horse.
• Safety:All firearms should be treated as if loaded, and loading and unloading should be done under the supervision of designated personnel.
• Penalties:
• Missed target: 5 seconds
• Knocked over barrel: 5 seconds
• Failure to follow course of fire: 10 seconds
• Dropped gun: 5 seconds
• Failure to holster first gun: 5 seconds
• Non-qualified run: 60 seconds
• Gun twirling: 5 seconds
• Loss of hat prior to engaging the course of fire: 10 seconds

• Course Design:The course is designed with targets and obstacles, requiring riders to navigate while shooting.
• Dress Code:Competitors are expected to wear western attire, and it's recommended that guests and family also wear western clothing.
• Classes:Competitions often have different classes based on age and experience, such as Senior Men's, Men's, Senior Ladies, and Ladies.

Key Considerations:
• Accuracy over Speed:While speed is important, accuracy is often more crucial, as missed targets can result in significant penalties.
• Safety First:Competitors are expected to prioritize safety and handle firearms responsibly.
• Horse Welfare:Competitors are responsible for the welfare of their horses and must ensure they are fit for competition.
• Equipment:Competitors need to ensure their firearms are in good working order and that they are properly loaded.
• Orientation and Qualification:New shooters are required to participate in orientation and qualification rides before competing.
